    explain this again to me

Intersection points (C and D) of equal height contour lines will give the points on the fold axes. Point C and D lying on the fold axes with elevations of 400m and 300m respectively. The horizontal distance between point C and D is given (3.5cm = 350m). By considering 350m as Horizontal equivalent and 100m (400m - 300m) as vertical Interval, you can find the plunge amount of fold axes.

why points A and B are not used instead of c and d.?a and b are also intersection points

    eduncle-logo-app

Yes, but A and B are not used because they are formed by the intersection of different height contour (300m and 400m). Since height of point A and B is not known (either 300m or 400m), you can not use them.
