    The optically active pure acid reacts with d and l form of alcohol present in the racemic mixture to form two types of isomeric esters. In each type, the configuration of the chiral centre of acid remain the same. Hence the mixture will be optically active.

    ANSWER The two esters formed here will be diastereomers because the chiral part of the carboxylic acid will not participate in the reaction. So, the product will be optically active.
