Reconstructive polymorphism involves extensive rearrangement of the crystal structure and requires breaking of chemical bonds and reassembling the atoms into a different crystal structure. In silica (SiO2), commonly there 3 reconstructive polymorphism 1. Crystobalite :-Tridymite (High temp polymorphic transformation) 2. Coesite:- Stishovite (High pressure polymorphic transformation) 3. Tridymite :-High Quartz
