Ans(A) Sandstone and highly jointed Granite An aquifer must have good Porosity and permeability. Both sandstone and granite can work as a good aquifer. Sandstones commonly have high pore spaces and good permeability and joints in granite will be favourable for aquifer conditions. Massive granites don't have any pore spaces and hence can not work as an aquifer. Shales have very low permeability and hence cannot work as an aquifer.
