    Answer: Basalt In the given rock, Q+A+P= (2+1+60) = 63%, which is greater than 10% and that's why we will use QAPF classification diagram of voocanic rocks. Normalising the Q, A and P to 100% will give, Q= (2/63) × 100= 3.2%, A = (1/63) × 100 = 1.6%, P= (60/63) × 100 = 95.2%; This modal Q, A and P composition will be plotted somewhere in Basalt field according to IUGS classification of voocanic rocks. So, the rock is Basalt.
