at 410km in the upper mantle there is seismic discontinuity.this marks an INCREASE or DECREASE?pleasd look into this 2images

    Also please note that seismic velocity decreases at 100-250 km depth clearly due to partial melting of rocks. This corresponds to the asthenosphere layer.

    At 440 and 660km discontinuity zone, seismic waves speed increase. See the diagram attached below.
