Time management is very much important in IIT JAM. The eduncle test series for IIT JAM Mathematical Statistics helped me a lot in this portion. I am very thankful to the test series I bought from eduncle.

Answer: (A) Higher than that of coexisting melt As you know that the crystallization temperature of Anorthite (CaAl2Si2O8) is higher than that of Albite (NaAlSi3O8). With decreasing temperature, at any point the crystallizing mineral will always take the major fraction of Anorthite (Ca component) and lesser fraction of Albite (Na component). This is the reason why at any equilibrium point, the crystals will always have the higher Ca/Na ratio (or Anorthite/Albite component) than that of coexisting melt.
