    Correct answer has to be (A)..... 2 indicates the tholeiitic trend where you can see the trending is towards fe-enrichment in the given AFM diagram(Alkaline rock series can also exhibit that fe enrichment trend). 1 most probably indicates the calcalkaline trend which are generally related to subduction settings.. And as per AFM diagram, the calcalkaline basalt have a constant ratio of MgO to FeO(MgO/FeO remains constant) . Also note that Calcalkaline basalt have high alumina content (high Al2O3 content). This trend is actually related to the crystal fractionation.

    Answer: 1 follows calc alkaline trend and 2 follows tholeiitic trend Tholeiitic- Iron enrichment in successive residual liquid (curve shown first enrichment of Fe and then depletion i.e. a convex upward curve) Calc-alkaline- No iron enrichment in successive residual liquid (straight line)
