    The main reason behind different specific gravity is because of stability zones of all three are different. So, if it is a single option correct question then (C) will be more appropriate answer.

    Yes, option (A) can also be correct because all three have different crystal systems. However the difference in the crystal system caused by the stability zone of all three are different.

    Answer (A) & (C) Quartz, tridymite and crystobalite have similar chemical composition SiO2 but still have different specific gravity. The difference in their specific gravity is because of their stability fields. They are stable in different P-T conditions which lead to difference in their lattice structure and hence specific gravity is different.

    option A The changes in crystal structure lead to changes in the specific density: an increasing temperature corresponds to increasing vibrations of the atoms in the crystal lattice, and as these need more and more space, more open crystal structures are favored.
