    Detrital Magnetism is majorly used in case of sedimentary rocks in paleomagnetism study. It can most probably explained as the magnetization of a sediment acquired as ferromagnetic detrital grains become aligned by the geomagnetic field(alignment of the ferromagnetic domains in the direction of net magnetic field ).
