54. It is given that area of crosS-section (A) of a porous and permeable rock formation through which water flows is 100 m', porosity (p) of the formation is 0.2 and effective porosity (e) is 0.10. If discharge 50 m/day, what is the Darcy velocity of the formation in m/day?

    Please find solution below... Also note that Darcy velocity is actually a fictitious velocity since it assumes that flow occurs across the entire cross-section of the sediment sample. Flow actually takes place only through interconnected pore channels (voids), at the seepage velocity VS. So actual velocity would be seepage velocity not darcy flux Or darcy velocity.
