    Rahul kumar best-answer

    Ans = 50% Total porous volume in rock = specific yield + specific retention = 200 + 50 = 250 m3. Porosity = (Porous volume/Total volume) x 100 = (250/500) x 100 = 50%

    But the question is wrong

    eduncle-logo-app

    u meam to say specific yield and retention are dimensionless.question framing is wrong.?

    eduncle-logo-app

    yes and It should be like water yield volume and water retained volume not specific yield and specific retention. because directly if you add s.y and s.r it will give the porosity.

    eduncle-logo-app

    And s.y and specific retention is a fraction and total volume is always big it will be always less than 1.

    eduncle-logo-app

    yes sir i got your point.

    Add both specific yield and specific retention it will give the pore volume 200+50=250m3 out of total volume pore volume is 250 means 50 percent.
