    Ans: (b) upper melting point curve Liquidus is the line above which everything will be in liquid phase. In solid solution curve, the last melting will occur at the liquidus and hence liquidus is considered as upper melting point curve.

    Liquidus is curve which represents the locus of points representing the melting of last remaining solid in the solid solution series during heating. In other way round (during cooling) it represents the locus of points where first crystallization occurs. see the fig

    hence option B- upper melting curve is correct

    liquidus is the upper first freezing point or upper melting point curve so if it is a msq it will have Answer B and C . but if it is a mCq the most appropriate will be C. just because this is a solution it will have a range of temperature of melting and freezing. And if you are taking temperature axis as upper and lower then the 1st crystal solidifying from liquid is the liquidus and it is at high temperature. Also the last melt is associated with it if we are melting a substance and the same line at high temperature will be at upper one and also suggesting upper melting temperature.
