Salicylic acid is much stronger than p-hydroxy benzoic acid but acidity of o-nitrophenol and p-nitrophenol is almost same-explain.

    In case of salicyclic acid(ortho-hydroxybenzoic acid).. Due to ortho effect(presence of substituents at ortho position) the acidity increases. So it is much acidic than para hydroxy benzoic acid. But ortho effect case don't arises in case of nitrophenol compound.
