    no , sequence can't be random points . (There should be a order in sequence .) Because sequence is a type of function , so all terms of sequence must satisfy a function .

    in our √2 sequence i.e.(1.4,1.41,1.414,....) cant be written in terms of f(n), so it's not a sequence.
