The importance of invertebrates But why would this happen? Firstly, because they are a vital source of food for many other animals, and at the same time they participate in biological control and pest control, thereby maintaining a balance within ecosystems. yes they can be used for human purpose. your perception is correct.

Dear student, Yes The invertebrates are valuable resource for human use, e.g. petroleum is produced by decomposition of invertebrates (micro-organisms). But the question is asking about how the ecology of vertebrates and invertebrates are different. Hence according to question you have to select options showing to ecological difference between two. Hence only option B and C are correct. Option C is correct but not relevant to this question.

Up to an extent, D can be considered as one of the correct option but there are some exceptions which you also need to consider. Invertebrates are indeed a valuable resource for human use but at the same time vertebrates are also used by human for many purpose. Comparing both of these and looking at the predominance of one is quite difficult in terms of ecology and that's why you can't explain the superiority of one over other in terms of human use.
