Sir i choosed option c but ans is d.

Earlier in this century, science assumed that the earliest protocells would have been autotrophs. This concept appears to be Correct, since heterotrophs would depend upon eating autotrophs Correct, since life is not possible without ATP which is only available in living systems Correct, since glycolysis and fermentation only occur after oxygen is present from photosynthesis Incorrect, since the primordial soup likely contained many preformed food molecules suitable for heterotrophic metabolism

Given statement is incorrect so the option D should be correct The first cells were heterotrophs, meaning that they obtained their energy and raw materials (i.e., food) from their surroundings. Early on in their existence, the supply of these resources would have run short, amounting to a famine. This famine exerted extreme evolutionary pressure on the heterotrophs, leading quite quickly to the development of cells which were able to produce their own food via photosynthesis i.e. Authotrophs. So earliest protocells were heterotrophs and with time they lead to the evolution of Autotrophs.

sir , initial heterotrophs depend on wt for their living.

    eduncle-logo-app

agreed that they exert pressure on nature to produce autotrops but it takes million of year.

Earlier heterotrophs were dependent on surrounding materials. Due to scarcity of materials heterotrophs lead to the formation of Autotrophs.

Yes, transition from heterotrophs to authotrophs took several million years. But on geological time scale duration of million years is not significant.
