Time management is very much important in IIT JAM. The eduncle test series for IIT JAM Mathematical Statistics helped me a lot in this portion. I am very thankful to the test series I bought from eduncle.

The correct answer should be B. Rigidity of Mantle is not constant and varies significantly with depth. The upper part of Mantle (asthenosphere) behaves like a plastic material (less rigid) and with increasing depth the rigidity increases. The minerals at the asthenosphere are not at their melting point. Mantle melting always occurs as a result of depressurization, radioactive heat or volatile influx.
one more thing sir, some times there is written deep earthquake occur at depth of 700km. is it possible?
Yes, deep earthquakes are associated with Benioff zone (convergent plate margin). Earthquakes in Benioff zone is deep; in order of 700km.
means it occus mantle in region, as lithospheric plates are 100-150 km
Yes 👍
