there is a logarithmic scale of magnitude and amplitude relationship, so of magnitude difference is 1, larger one is 10 times greater than smaller one. if 2, 100 times. if 3 ,1000 times If 4, 10000 times

See answer Below as earthquake are waves which brings destruction . So the larger the wave amplitude the greater will be ground motion. A graph is attached below see it.

sir why we are calculating amplitude he is asking for ground motion.

are we earth motion considering amplitude?

    Yes

    see the graph attached
