The ocean floor metamorphics are commonly classified in four major categories: zeolite facies, prehnite-pumpellyite facies, greenschist facies, and amphibolite facies. Within the metamorphic facies the term mineral assemblage is used when some of the secondary minerals formed suggest a metamorphic paragenesis. Seawater percolates deep down through the fractures and chemistry of seawater interacts with sub seafloor rocks which causes Metamorphism (through interaction of fluids). The composition of seafloor is also a dominant factor in seafloor Metamorphism. Removal and enrichment of particular elements lead to change in final composition of seafloor metamorphosed rocks.
