Stratigraphic Unit- A stratigraphic unit is a volume of rock of identifiable origin and relative age range that is defined by the distinctive and dominant, easily mapped and recognizable petrographic, lithologic or paleontologic features (facies) that characterize it. Zone- Zones are bodies of strata that are defined or characterized on the basis of their contained fossils. Zones exist only where the particular diagnostic feature or attribute on which they are based has been identified. Horizon- Horizon refers to either a bedding surface where there is marked change in the lithology within a sequence of sedimentary or volcanic rocks, or a distinctive layer or thin bed with a characteristic lithology or fossil content within a sequence.

Yes, rock mass classified on the basis of particular characters are called as stratigraphic units. As I mentioned that stratigraphic unit is classified on the basis of lithology, fossil assemblage etc. Zone is a type of stratigraphic unit (a rock mass) classified on the basis of fossil assemblages. Yes, if you can trace the sandstone-siltstone boundary all over the basin then that can be considered as a horizon.
