    In the figure on your book AD is body diagonal...and is equal to 4r

    eduncle-logo-app

    and in your figure the diagonal AC= root 2a and CD=a so you find by pythagoras theorem AD =root 3a and then proceed to find packing efficiency

    line ad is passing through body center point so it is body diagonal

    sir check body diagonal calculation here ac^2=2a^2plz vheck

    eduncle-logo-app

    image I have already sent u

    eduncle-logo-app

    ac= √2a if square ac ac2=( √2a)^2=2a^2

    eduncle-logo-app

    how ac is root 2a

    Shweta is any doubt still persists??

    eduncle-logo-app

    shweta just imagine,you are sitting in a room as a cube...and in the base square the side is a then how you find diagonal of base square equal to root 2a( root over a^2 +a^2), then come to body diagonal part...just imagine a line as the top corner of your ceiling square to just opposite corner of your floor square,the line you imagine is body diagonal which is equal to your base diagonal square plus one of side square sum, that you got as root 3a...imagine this and you get the point

    have you imagine this shweta
