Sir question in picture.

Imagine the following. A set of rail road tracks are cut by a vertical dipping fault. As you walk along the railroad tracks toward the fault, at the intersection of the tracks and the fault, you have to turn to your left and walk about 10 meters along the fault until you encounter the the continuation of the railroad tracks. What would you call the fault ? left-lateral strike-slip fault right-lateral strike-slip fault left-slip fault strike- lateral right-slip fault strike-lateral

    Ans (a) left lateral Strike slip fault or, sinistral fault The offset caused by fault is 10m. See the attached figure for detail.

    Answer is option A: To encounter the same features, if you need to turn left, then fault is left lateral fault. here dip of fault is given as 90 degree hence it is a strike slip fault hence the overall faulting can be termed as left lateral strike slip fault
