Time management is very much important in IIT JAM. The eduncle test series for IIT JAM Mathematical Statistics helped me a lot in this portion. I am very thankful to the test series I bought from eduncle.

Answer: Axial plane and axial trace are two very different terms. First, you should understand that axial plane is a planar surface (2 dimensional feature) and axial trace is a line (one dimensional feature). Now, axial trace is related with axial plane; axial trace is the trace of axial plane on ground surface. When axial plane of any fold intersects the ground surface, it creates a line; the intersection line is known as axial trace. Generally, axial trace will be parallel to the trend of fold axis in case of upright plunging fold (diagram is attached). Axial trace will be perpendicular to the fold axis trend in case of reclined fold.
