Apparent dip is the dip, measured in any other direction than the true dip (perpendicular to the strike). True dip is always measured in direction perpendicular to strike whereas apparent sip is measured at any angle with strike. The amount of true dip is always higher than the amount of apparent dip. In given figure, 3 is the direction of apparent dip and 2 is the direction of true dip. 1 is representing the strike direction of the bed.

means ideal case is true dip. and practically we see apparent dip?

    eduncle-logo-app

and sir did you show the same vertical plane for both the dip?

    eduncle-logo-app

    yes gurmeet

dip is always measured in a vertical plane and these vertical plane are at angle not the same one

sir can you share one more fig.

    eduncle-logo-app

    ok

    see this figure

sir can we change the common point, as each fig have the same point for both dip. our matter is with dip in vertical plane.?

    eduncle-logo-app

there is always be a common point associated because true dip is perpendicular to the strike line so a perpendicular can be drawn at any place right. and other then the perpendicular any other direction leads us to a apparent dip. This points are for reference so not to worry much
