Sir what is the difference between these 2 figures 2. what is inclined plunging fold..

200 AT Inis is also an upright plunging fold as axial trace and trend of fold axis shown parallelism. (ii) In case of inclined plunging fold, the angle between the axial trace and the trend of the fold axis is acute. 20 AT Here, 0 is the angle between axial trace and trend of fold axis plunge of fold axis = 20° ld vie i O00 d

    1. Figure (i) is an outcrop pattern of upright plunging fold i.e. axial plane of the fold is vertical and fold axis is plunging. In Figure (ii) the pattern is representing an inclined plunging fold which means axial plane of the fold is dipping (inclined) and fold axis is plunging. 2. As stated above, an inclined plunging fold is a fold having inclined axial plane and plunging fold axis. For better visualisation, I have attached a diagram of inclined plunging fold below.

sir, is it possible that trend of the fold axis is perpendicular to axial trace.

Yes, it's possible. Trend of fold axis is perpendicular to axial trace in case of reclined fold.

sir can send any pictures. because i am imagining it as fold get completely broken down.

Please look at the attached diagram of outcrop pattern of reclined and upright plunging fold.
