Time management is very much important in IIT JAM. The eduncle test series for IIT JAM Mathematical Statistics helped me a lot in this portion. I am very thankful to the test series I bought from eduncle.

Yes, you can say well defined layering in mica as foliation. You should also remember that the foliation is generally used for metamorphic rocks. You can get Foliated mica in lower as well as higher metamorphic grade rocks such as Phyllite, Schist and Gneiss. With increasing metamorphism grade the grain size increase and dark and light minerals get separated from each other (as visible in case of Gneiss). Schist and gneiss, both are types of foliated rocks. With increasing temperature the type of foliation changes i.e. schistose layering becomes gneissose layering.
