consider g(x) =F(x)-x which is continus bcz it is difference of two continus function g(a)<0 g(b)>0 we know that f is continus in [a,b] and f(a) ,f(b) are of opposite sign then there exist c€(a,b) such that f(c)=0 using this theorms here g(a) ,g(b) are of opposite sign so there exist c€(a,b) such that g(c)=0 f(c)-c=0
