    Substituted cyclo butadiene restricts conjugation hence it loses some anti aromatic property that's why it can be isolated

    Unsubstantiated cyclo butadiene is anti aromatic hence can't be isolated at normal temp..... While substuted form inhibits conjugation a bit.
