Answer (C) Eras The boundary between Eras coincides with the major changes in the life forms. For eg, transition from Archaean to Paleozoic leads to the development of hard-boiled organisms. Transition from Paleozoic to Mesozoic lead to the diversification of Reptiles and extinction of many other groups (like trilobite). Similarly, other boundaries between Era also resembles major changes in life forms.
sir i was thinking- system/period can be good ans as became very specific as Devonian as of fish, Cambrian as age of trilobite...
Dear Gurmeet, please see the question properly. In the question, the word "major changes" is mentioned. Major changes only occurred at the boundary of Eras. You are talking about system/period, which is indicative of minor changes in life forms. So, the correct answer should be Eras. Please ask if you have any further queries.
