Time management is very much important in IIT JAM. The eduncle test series for IIT JAM Mathematical Statistics helped me a lot in this portion. I am very thankful to the test series I bought from eduncle.

Ans- 55 degrees Pitch and Rake, both means the same thing. The dip amount of fault plane wouldn't change the pitch/rake because pitch/rake is measured in the same plane (here in this case it is fault plane) with respect to the horizontal. So, the answer would be 55 degrees. Please ask in case of any clarification.
sir answer is different.
what is the answer?
35.53
on the use of formula
I don't know the authenticity of the question but the term "apparent rake" is meaningless. Apparent rake never exists. The question is somewhat misleading.
tan (apparent rake) = tan(rake) × cos (true dip)
can this formula be used here?
I didn't see this formula anywhere in the book. You may get the given answer after using this formula but the term "apparent rake" has no meaning. I would suggest you to think it in 3D, then you will realise that this formula has no meaning.
ok sir
