    Option b is correct because. It is a gaussian function, and expectation value of x is always 0 for gaussian function given in your ques of dirwct x^2 rather (x-a) ^2. If the gaussian fun tion has. (x-a) term then expectations value comes a. And for a gaussian function moment expectations value is hk. This comes by a lot of mathematics. And we usually remembers this value for doing our questions fast in exam.
