sir.in the beginning of the Q.(the fraction of the moles required)the fraction of moles is asked.does it directly mean to find mole fraction?

    eduncle-logo-app

for which in the last step u did 0.5/total moles for al2O3

    eduncle-logo-app

I followed according to question. if it is said how many moles of Al2O3 or Sio2 is used for 1 mole of kalsillite then it would be directly 0.5 and 1 mole respectively but fraction of mole is asked so i find out the fraction from total 2 mole which is 0.5 of al203 + 1 mole of SiO2 and .5 mole of k2o .

sir what you are saying i understood. but why there is so much variation between your answers and rahul pandey sir answers

    eduncle-logo-app

this is creating confusion in my mind.which one i should follow

    eduncle-logo-app

Rahul Pandey is a mentor here i am not able to see his answers as i am not a friend of him. May be i am wrong i but i followed the steps that's why i always ask for validation.. Don't panic i will validate with a chemistry friend and inform you quickly.

    ok sir.please validate.

anu A balanced reaction have equal mole on both side no matter the individual moles of reactant species. means 1 mole of Al2O3 is formed so 1mole of reactant species also to be consumed. so directly 0.5 and 1mole will be the answer here.

The last step of my answer has to be omitted and i apologise for this mistake .we also learn as well you guys are constantly polishing us . Thank you

for this question a last step was missing.

    eduncle-logo-app

i got it today..the question is asking for a single value and it mentions the fraction of no of moles of sio2 and al2o3 it is 1/0.5=2

    eduncle-logo-app

    answer is 2

    eduncle-logo-app

    ohh Ratio was asked!!!

    eduncle-logo-app

    yes sir

    eduncle-logo-app

Now you know the concept you can do questions related to this 😃

Ans: 1 mole SiO2 and 1/2 moles of Al2O3 1 mole of KAlSiO4 contains 1/2 moles of K2O, 1/2 moles of Al2O3 and 1 mole of SiO2. In simple way: 1/2 (K2O) + 1/2 (Al2O3) + 1 SiO2 --> KAlSiO4 So, to form 1 mole of Kalsilite, one mole of SiO2 and 1/2 moles of Al2O3 is required. Feel free to ask if you have any doubt.

in the question sir fraction of the moles required, does it mean to find Mole fraction?

    eduncle-logo-app

The question doesn't specify that thing clearly. Fraction usually means part, which is calculated in this question.
