    Velocity of P wave is greater than the velocity of S wave so as we know that :- Time = distance / velocity Now :- T(s) - T(p) = distance ( 1/V(s) - 1/V(p) ) since Vp ans Vs are constant here so ∆T proportional to distance of focus center. As the distance of focus increases accordingly ∆T also increases . Here ∆T = Tp - Ts which is S-P interval .
