Estimates of the duration of one orbit is 224 million terrestrial years. Light year: Distance that light travels in one year Astronomical year: Time for the earth to make one revolution around the sun (365.25 days) Parsec: Unit of length used to measure the large distances to astronomical objects outside the Solar System. One parsec is approximately equal to 31 trillion kilometres, or 210,000 astronomical units, and equates to about 3.3 light-years.
