Longitudinal stress is related to normal stress. When normal stress applied on a body or rock as given in the question, if the length of the body changes(its length changes) due to applied normal stress it is considered as longitudinal stress and in turn longitudinal stress is divided into two major types - Tensile amd compressive stress depending on the direction these pair of forces hence applied.. So don't ger confuse with the word longitudinal and normal. As both are correct

It has to be Young modulus.... While bulk modulus is usually related to compressibility and im turn to the volume(normal stress to the volumetric strain)..
