The solution given isn't correct. We are asked to find Vceq but in the solution only Vo is solved.

    you r not asked to find Vceq ..you are asked to find Vcq i.e. voltage appearing at collector terminal when the q point is established by the given circuit elements

    Here you are asked to find quiescent collector voltage not Vce.If you are asked to find Q point then you have to find Vce and Ic.Here quiescent collector voltage means voltage of the collector at Q point.So you have to find Vc(Voltage of the collector with respect to ground) which is Vce+Ve.

    ans: C)14 volts..... actually Vce=Vc-Ve. here Vc=Vo....you r misunderstanding the answer given in your book..i think the answer is correct...see the attached files
