    we can solve it by partition fxn as well. or from thermo as well . means statistically as well

    u could see a little difference here in finding the internal energy, here I first calculate total partition function and then internal energy while in my previous attached page, I first calculate partition function and internal energy for one particle and then total energy by multiplying N..

    using equipartition theorm, for one particle, total energy is kT because 1/2*kT for potential energy and 1/2*KT for k.E so for N particles, it is NkT.. option d

    So, what is the purpose of giving the energy form as E=p2/2m+0.5kx^2??

    each degree of freedom contribute 1/2*kT of energy so if E is not given, then u can find the d.o.f associated with k.E or P.E..
