Yes ,true dip direction is always perpendicular to strike. Dip is the amount of angle made by any surface with horizontal when is measured in a vertical plane. Strike is the line which is formed from interesection of any plane with horizontal plane . true dip direction is always perpendicular to strike. And apparent dips (other direction which is not perpendicular to strike) is always less in degree amount than true dip. e.g if a plane dips 45 ° true dip then apparent dips will always less than 45° and will become zero when direction is parallel to strike.
