valence band. f(E) has values between Ey and Ec but there are no energy states available, and no electron ccupancy results from f(E) in this range i.e., electron can't have energy in between E, & E h n-tvpe Semiconductors .What does it mean?

    this happens because the band gap is energy range in a solid where no electron state can exist due to quantization of energy.

    quantization of energy only discrete value of enrgy is possible means only discrete state are found in which electron can occupy between this no energy or simply no states are available for electron to occupy state
