We have to memorize the specific gravity of minerals?

    No not at all . just incase if it's asked high specific gravity or low specific gravity there are few minerals like Garnet,barite are of high specific gravity, generally those are sinked in bromform are heavy. Few of them you have to know.

    No, you don't need to memorize the specific gravity of different minerals. You can just remember the minerals whose specific gravity is very unique. For example, specific gravity of minerals like barite, Galena, magnetite are very high whereas specific gravity of minerals like talc, bauxite is very low. You need to memorize the minerals whose specific gravity is either very high or very low. In exams, question setters Generally ask about the comparative specific gravity (instead of absolute value of specific gravity), so if you remember the minerals having very high or very low specific gravity then that would be enough to solve such questions.
