Binding energy is the minimum amount of energy required to separate a particle from system of particles.if the binding energy of a particle is zero then it spontaneously break apart. Binding energy is especially applicable for subatomic particles in atomic nuclei,to electrons bound to nuclei in atom, and atoms and ion bound together in crystal. particle imply here for electrons, nucleus, ions atoms .

    which part you have doubt

    eduncle-logo-app

I am confused with the fact that the nucleus is also included as a particle, as it's the binding energy which keeps it

yes inside atom nucleus is bounded by different type of force short range force ,long range force and it is bounded inside atom by these force and so we can also call it as a particle

    nucleus is also a particle
