Federalism can thus be defined as a form of government in which there is a division of powers between two levels of government of equal status. Leading examples of the federation or federal state include the United States, India, Brazil, Mexico, Russia, Germany, Canada, Switzerland, Argentina, and Australia. Some also today characterize the European Union as the pioneering example of federalism in a multi-state setting, in a concept termed the federal union of states. Like in our country where 2 forms of government are there Central Government & State Government Both function independently & take separate deductions for their state except in some matter where only one power rules . This helps smooth functioning & better governance. It helps to reach at every level of people & enable their voices to be heard.
