A unitary matrix is a complex square matrix whose columns (and rows) are orthonormal. It has the remarkable property that its inverse is equal to its conjugate transpose. A unitary matrix whose entries are all real numbers is said to be orthogonal. Two rows or columns are orthogonal to each other means the product of the row or column with their complex conjugate is always equals to zero. see the attached image
