Oil migration- Migration refers to the movement of produced hydrocarbons from source rock to the reservoir rock. Migration are generally of two types; primary migration and secondary migration. Primary migration: Movement of petroleum from fine grained source rocks to the reservoir rocks Secondary migration: Movement of hydrocarbons along the discontinuity present in rocks such as fractures or fault. Oil dismigration- Movement of oil from reservoir rocks to a different place. During dismigration, previously accumulated oil in reservoir rocks move to a different place. As a result of dismigration the quality of reservoir decreases.
