unhybridized orbitals are in the ground state of the atom. Hybridized orbitals are a combination of orbitals some of which are not in the ground state.

Unhybridized orbitals are the regular atomic orbitals that we have always known. Hybridized orbitals are orbitals that represent a mixture of unhybridized orbitals. These orbitals show what actually happens in bonding and help determine the molecular shape. A sigma bond is made up of hybridized orbitals and a pi bond is made up of unhybridized orbitals

There is a big difference as because hybridized atoms make bond when they make bond like for example 1S2 is making bond with 2p2 so it will form sp3 But in unhybridised it will form sp2 and one p at different pair. This is also a reason why unhybridised makes pi bond. There are many collisions like head to head and side to side. These factors are also much dependent on this hybridization.

Pure orbital are unhybrid such as pur S ,pure P. Hybrid orbital are mixing of orbital such as sp3 sp2 etc
