Index of a subgroup in a group make sense. And order of group is just the cardinality (no of elements) of the group.

sir what it mean by index of a subgroup in a group make sense...pls tell

    eduncle-logo-app

the index of a subgroup H in a group G is the number of left cosets of H in G, or equivalently, the number of right cosets of H in G.

You can calculate index by [G:H]=O(G)/O(H).

index of group in group is always one so it doesn't make much sense.
