What is the difference in hardness of apatite and corrundum according to moh hardness scale?is it apatite=5 and corrundum 9.so difference=4?

    No the absolute value is actually different. 400 - 48= 352 absolute hard ness

    If someone asks about the Mohr scale hardness difference you can simply say no they are not as different as the scale because that is a relative scale.and according to there absolute value thet are just arranged in 1 to 10

    No, Mohs scale of hardness is relative scale of hardness so if hardness of apatite is 5 and corundum is 9 then their hardness difference wouldn't be equal to 4. Mohs hardness scale is a relative scale and is nonlinear. See the attached figure for detail.
