hkl face belongs to which form you have to remember.. TIPS is that hkl is the form contains maximum face of a crystal system and also maximum symmetry

ISOMETRIC SYSTEM HAS (hkl) hexoctahedron= 6*8=48. IN tetragonal (hkl)= ditetragonal dipyramid( 4*2=8 ,dipyramid(8*2=16). =16 faces. so Difference is 48-16=32

how do we know that hkl belongs to the particular crystal form you just stated? Can you state the logic behind ?
