It is simple Shib. Remember s block element. They are metal and they have low ionisation potential. So metallic character increases with decrease in ionisation potential.

Across the period the nuclear charge increases. As a result atomic size decreases hence the IP, EA and EN increase. Due to increases in IP the metallic character decreases and non metallic character increases.

    got shib??

if element has low ionisation energy then it easily lose electrons so it is more reactive...so metallic character increases down the group

The metallic character increases as you go down a group. Since the ionization energy decreases going down a group (or increases going up a group), the increased ability for metals lower in a group to lose electrons makes them more reactive

metallic character refers with reactivity too...as metal tends to lose electrons as indicated by their low ionisation enthalpy

so shib you can say it is inversely related
